Fall Tournament 2021 | October 21-23

Welcome!

Women’s volleyball and men's soccer teams from high schools across the country will gather at Union College October 21-23, 2021, for the annual Union College Fall Tournament.

Games will begin on Thursday, October 21, at 9:15 a.m. and teams will participate in pool play on Thursday to determine seeding in either the Clocktower or Thunderdome tournament—both of which will be played during the day Friday and continued on Saturday night.

And this year, Union will be adding golf for the first time with teams from Collegedale Academy and Forest Lake Academy participating. The golfers will tee off at Holmes Lake Golf Course at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

All volleyball games will take place in the Thunderdome on Union College’s campus, at the College View Academy gym (5240 Calvert St.) and at Speedway Village (345 Speedway Circle). Soccer games will be played at Union College's 49ers Memorial Field (56th and Calvert) and at Speedway Village (345 Speedway Circle).

COVID-19 Protocol

Union has instituted a mask mandate in accordance it the Directed Health Measure from our county health department.

This means that all tournament guests and participants will be required to wear face masks while indoors at Union College and all tournament sites. Masks may only be removed indoors in the following situations:

  • While seated and eating in Union Market
  • By players who are on the court actively playing in a tournament game or participating in official game warm ups.

The face mask policy will affect volleyball games. Because soccer games will be held outside, face masks will not be required.

What if someone becomes sick?

If a team member or coach develops symptoms that may be related to COVID-19, it is the responsibility of the team athletic director or head coach to make sure sick person quarantines and receives a COVID test. 

The team is also responsible for taking appropriate quarantine measures as outlined by the CDC quarantine guidelines.
