
Matthew Gamble is no stranger to the struggles of following in Christ’s footsteps. Gamble, the pastor of The Haven Adventist Church on the campus of St. Helena Hospital., will speak for the first Family Worship of the Union College school year tonight at 7:30.
Gamble was born and raised in a Catholic home, then when he turned 14 became an atheist. But when a Christian pastor listened to his story and gave him a Bible, the teachings of Jesus began to change his life.
Gamble has spent his time since then helping others learn the power of those teachings. He has spoken all over the world—talking to audiences about the importance of a relations with Jesus, especially when dealing with addiction.
Gamble earned a bachelor’s degree in theology, a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry with an emphasis in transformational leadership from Andrews University. His passions include his wife and family, international travel, people, and studying trends in secularism and postmodernism.
“Matt has an amazingly creative way of connecting with young adults and then challenging them, in a very supporting role, in the value of making wise choices in life,” said Rich Carlson, vice president for spiritual life.
